Tea Farm

The Chamraj Tea Estate is nestled at 1,800-2,400m elevation in the Nilgiri Blue Mountains in southern India. The landscape is characterised by rolling slopes and hills covered in thick forests and lush meadows. The United Nilgiri Tea Estates Company prioritises not only certified organic cultivation, but also sustainable practices and fair treatment of all people at the estates from tea pickers to producers.

Laboratory Tests

We go to great lengths to identify the finest organic tea farms across the world’s most celebrated terroirs. All our teas are sourced directly from the farmer and, with a few exceptions, are certified organic or come from pesticide-free farms. Each batch of tea for every harvest is tested for pesticides and other pollutants in an independent German lab to ensure they meet our strict quality standards as well as HACCP food safety requirements.

Preparation

Brewing Guide

2-3g per 100-300ml (75°C) water. Steep for 2-3 minutes. Suitable for several infusions.

Packaging

High quality, airtight, resealable standing zipper pouch with 9 protective layers to preserve flavour and protect against oxidation and contamination.

Recommended Teapot

For an especially aromatic and traditional-tasting Earl Grey, we recommend an elegant glass teapot from Hario or, alternatively, a classic porcelain teapot.

Recommended Storage

Ideally store in a quality tea caddy made from cherry tree bark (wooden, kabazaiku chazutsu) or an airtight, double-coated metal tin.
