Tea Farm

In the northwest of the Amazon - Ecuador permaculture has always been practiced. Guayusa grows up well protected in small "chakras", gardens laid out in the middle of the jungle. By means of this natural cultivation, the forest is preserved and its symbiotic relationships are maintained or exploited. Our guayusa is pesticide-free, environmentally friendly and maintains raw food quality.

Guayusa (Ilex Guayusa)

A species of holly native to South America, it is found mainly in the northwestern part of the Amazon region – Ecuador, Colombia and Peru. In the lower altitudes of the rainforests, a guayusa tree can reach up to 30 metres but at altitudes up to 2,000 metres the plant has more of a shrub form.

For thousands of years, guayusa has been commonly consumed by Indigenous peoples. According to popular belief, guayusa contains the "power of the jaguar" and is said to protect against poisonous snakes and spider bites, as well as giving concentration and success to the hunter looking for prey.
