Finest Origin - Highest Grade

These clove trees (Eugenia caryophyllus) thrive near the sea in northwestern Madagascar. This tropical oceanic region provides ideal growing conditions with clear, humid as well as hot air and nutrient-rich soil. This climate promotes the full development of valuable ingredients and aromas in the plant, such as eugenol and eugenyl acetate. The fruits are gently harvested by hand and distilled in the small distillery with the gentle process of steam distillation in a stainless steel tank.

Farm

This essential oil is sourced from a renowned and certified producer based in Valréas in northern Provence, France. The company was founded in 1980 and owns several essential oil plantations and farms all over the world. The origin and quality of the plants are well documented, and the company ensures that the highest standards are maintained and works professionally and passionately to produce excellent essential oils.

The oils are produced from freshly harvested plant materials via steam distillation. The experienced producers use a very gentle distillation method with low water pressure, which allows for the near complete extraction of the plants' valuable phytochemicals. Their products are certified organic according to French EcoCert standards.

Cloves

The clove tree (Eugenia caryophyllus) belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and originally comes from the Moluccas in Southeast Asia. Today, the plant is also cultivated on Zanzibar, the Comoros and Madagascar. It is an evergreen tree with a growth height of up to 20 meters and forms about 12cm long pointed stable leaves and white-yellow flowers in umbel form. In order to obtain the cloves, which are highly valued in the kitchen, the 1-2 cm long buds are picked by hand and dried before they blossom.

Aroma

The spicy-sweet scent of clove has relaxing and strengthening properties, which contribute to a simultaneously stimulating and grounding effect.
